What this means, in plain English

Berkshire Hathaway is currently priced at $494.93. The stock is moving sideways, meaning it is not showing a strong upward or downward momentum. It remains above its 200-day average of $490.09, which is a common indicator used to determine the long-term direction of a stock's price.

The RSI, or Relative Strength Index—a gauge of whether a stock has climbed too far, too fast—sits at 53.2. This number suggests the stock is neither overbought nor oversold. With the price sitting comfortably between the $486.06 support floor and the $512.58 resistance ceiling, a hold approach is appropriate.

Should you buy Berkshire Hathaway stock?

Given the current sideways trend and the moderate P/E ratio of 22.8, there is no immediate urgency to add to a position. A hold call suggests waiting for more clarity in the market rather than acting on today's 0.83% change. Patience is often the best strategy when a stock is not showing a clear breakout.

What Berkshire Hathaway insiders have been doing

Executives and directors must disclose their own trades in company stock. Of the last 6 disclosed transactions we hold for Berkshire Hathaway, 0 were sales and 1 was an open-market purchase; the other 5 were awards, vesting or option exercises rather than a decision to buy or sell. Insiders sell for many ordinary reasons — scheduled plans, tax, diversification — so a sale is not by itself a signal.
